We are a major provider of advice and support services to young people and adults across Yorkshire and Humber. We have a strong track record of successfully delivering government funded initiatives and contracts including National Careers Service, ESF NEET and the Study Programme.

    3 x Full time Transitions Key Workers

    1 x Part time, 18 hours Transition Key Worker

    Unqualified £23,000 per annum

    Qualified £25,700 per annum

    Candidates are considered qualified if they hold a Dip CG/QCG/NVQ4 in Careers / Advice & Guidance or full professional qualification in Teaching, Social Work or Youth Work.

    We are seeking 4 Transitions Key Workers to join our Targeted Services Team in South Leeds, based at Hillside Tiger 11, Beeston. Transitions Key Workers will work with a caseload of young people aged 16 to 19/25 to support them into education, employment and training through engagement with either Youth Contact or Connexions service provision. Excellence in safeguarding practice underpins all delivery. Our services ‘think family, work family’.

    Key Workers support multi agency working arrangements, residential programmes, group work and community based drop in sessions and work closely with the full range of post 16 learning providers and targeted and specialist services. The ability to travel independently around the city is an essential requirement of this role.

    Applicants will demonstrate competency in highly target driven environments and in multi agency and multi disciplinary working. Successful candidates will be experienced in working within a safeguarding context, at Tiers 1 – 3 and have a good working knowledge of Working Together, the Children’s Act and the Troubled Families Agenda.

    Aspire-igen is currently funded until March 31st 2016 with extension funding being sought. This opportunity is available as a secondment to interested candidates.

    Vocational Tutor/Assessor – Construction

    Full time, permanent

    Based in Bradford, with some delivery at alternate locations

    Full time 37 hours per week

    £26,000 per annum

    An opportunity has arisen for a Vocational Tutor/Assessor, within our Learner Delivery Team reporting to our Centre coordinator, who will be responsible for providing delivery of a full range of vocational training and support services associated with our contracted Programmes. This would include teaching and learning, assessment and learner support from Entry to Level 3, leading to further training, vocational pathways and employment opportunities. You would need to plan, monitor, support and train learners on our contracted programmes to ensure planned programmes are completed in a timely manner.

    The main objectives of the role are:

  • To train and teach learners skills in vocational areas the skills needed to ensure that they gain the relevant knowledge and skills that lead to vocational pathways and employment opportunities

  • To use learning materials that enhance learner’s practical and technical employability skills and prepare them for further employment and/or training and raise motivation and self-esteem.

  • To contribute to the development of schemes of work, session plans and learning resources to support flexible learning strategies and to meet the learning aims of learners

  • To contribute to the planning and scheduling process of both teaching, learning and assessment to ensure that learners gain the relevant knowledge and skills that lead to vocational pathways and employment opportunities

  • To support learners to find suitable work experience placements which support their chosen career path and aspirations, and visit them in the workplace and assess them as part of their Study programme or Apprenticeship to ensure the successful achievement of their programme in line with contractual requirements and targets.

  • You must have at least two years occupational competence in the vocational area detailed above, and be familiar with Awarding Bodies. You should be able to design and deliver training appropriate to our learners and have previous experience working with young people.

    You must have a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, CTTLS, DTTLS). A Skills for Life or Functional skills qualification in English, maths and ICT, a D32 and D33, A1 award or Level 3 Certificate in assessing vocational achievement would be desirable but not essential.
