We are a major provider of advice and support services to young people and adults across the Leeds City Region, Yorkshire and the North of England.

    Functional Skills/Vocational Tutor

    Full time, permanent

    Based in Bradford, with some delivery in Keighley

    Full time 37 hours per week £22,000 - £24,500 per annum

    An opportunity has arisen for a Functional Skills/Vocational Tutor to deliver Functional Skills to learners on our Study programmes and Apprenticeships. The successful candidate would work within our Learner Delivery Team reporting to our Vocational Learning Manager to ensure that maths, English and ICT Functional Skills are delivered from Entry to Level 2 associated with Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. The main objectives of the role are:

    • To deliver maths, English and ICT Functional Skills from Entry to Level 2 associated with the Study Programmes and Apprenticeships.
    • To design and implement schemes of work, session plans and resources, contextualise functional skills into a variety of vocational areas, to support functional skills delivery.
    • To be responsible for the teaching, learning, assessment and learner support which leads to further training or employment opportunities.
    • To have worked in vocational lead setting.
    • To ensure minimum standards of achievement rates are met for Study Programmes and Apprenticeship Delivery in Functional Skills.

    You will be able to design, deliver and contextualise functional skills appropriate to 16-19 year old learners and 19+ Apprenticeship learners at a consistently high standard, have previous experience of working with young and/or disadvantaged people, and have extensive functional skills delivery experience across a variety of sectors.

    You must have a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, CTTLS, DTTLS) and Skills for Life or Functional Skills qualification in English, Maths and ICT. A subject specialism in Literacy and Numeracy at level 4 or 5 is desirable.

    Step up 2 Business Engagement Coordinator

    Based at The Opportunity Centre, Bradford

    Full Time, £22 – £24k per annum

    Fixed Term until 31st March 2015

    The post holder will need to support and coordinate activities to meet Step Up 2 Business engagement targets of recruitment and retention of young informal traders. They will also need to identify potential new agencies and organisations for the Step Up 2 Business network and act as a link between said agencies and Step Up 2 Business

    The project needs to be promoted in youth & community settings, schools and colleges and with organisations and agencies who work with young people aged 16 – 24 in Bradford. Once on board, the post holder will need to support the young people to explore the feasibility of their business idea and to conduct a thorough needs assessment with each young person identifying potential barriers to formalisation

    It is essential that you have a proven track record of finding and working with hard to reach young people on a 1-1 basis. You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Youth Work, or IAG, and have a level 2 in numeracy, literacy or both. It is also desirable that you have an understanding of, and an interest in, using social media to engage with young people but this is not essential.

    Careers Advice and Guidance Practitioners for the Shine Careers Service at Aspire-i

    Associate (Self Employed) and Fixed Term Employed Contracts (f/t, p/t, term time only)

    Associate daily rate: £110-£130 depending on qualification level and experience

    Salary band: £24,000 - £25,500 (fte) depending on qualification level and experience

    We have a number of opportunities for experienced and suitably qualified careers guidance practitioners to work with us on a range of services including:

    • Careers information, advice and guidance services to young people in schools and colleges, supporting teachers with their careers education provision as required. Current opportunities are mainly in West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire
    • Careers guidance to 16-18 year old learners participating in the Aspire2Work Study Programme in Bradford District

    You will demonstrate a highly professional approach, be able to work on your own initiative, organise your workload effectively and efficiently, be experienced at working to clear objectives and deadlines and be able to demonstrate experience of working in a partnership setting.

    In return for your commitment we provide management supervision, continuing professional development, information and ICT support.

    You may have specialist skills and experience and we would be very interested to know what else you could offer to the Company.
